Learn the rules of the imposter game in 3 simple steps. Become a master detective or a cunning deceiver.
1. Setup
Gather 3-10 friends. Everyone gets a secret word, except the Impostor.
2. Describe
Describe your word with one sentence. Don't be too obvious, or the Impostor will guess it!
3. Vote
Discuss and vote. Find the Impostor to win. If the Impostor survives, they win!
Know Your Role
Civilian
- •Goal: Find the Impostor without revealing the secret word.
- •Strategy: Give subtle clues. "It has fur" is better than "It barks".
Impostor
- •Goal: Blend in and guess the secret word.
- •Strategy: Stay calm. Agree with others. If you guess the word, you might save yourself!
Pro Tips for Winning
For Everyone
- Listen to every word.
- Watch for hesitation.
- Don't repeat someone else's clue.
Advanced Play
- Use "double meanings" in your clues.
- Impostors: Try to be the last to speak.
- Civilians: Don't be too vague, or you'll look sus.
